- Can you sleep anywhere in a motorhome in the UK?

In the UK you cannot park overnight and sleep anywhere you wish in a motorhome. Where you park at night depends on who owns the land. In England and Wales overnight stays are usually only permitted with the landowner's permission (including car parks and laybys) and councils or local authorities can restrict stays using laws, height barriers or signs.
If you put out steps, awnings, chairs or drain waste on the land you are likely to be moved on or fined. For permitted stops use licensed campsites, CL/CS sites, certified locations or permitted pub/farm stays (ask us for recommendations). Always check the signage on arrival, arrive late and leave early. It's always best where possible to book stays in advance to avoid disappointment.
