Meet Phil, a valuable member of the Just go team!
Over the next few months we’ll be interviewing a few of our staff members from key areas of the business, from tour guides to service staff we’ll be giving you a unique insight into Just go motorhomes.
How did you hear about Just go and how did you get the job?
I went on a Just go motorhome holiday to New Zealand back in 2009 and met the owner. After being shown around my motorhome by him I found out that they had a UK depot which happened to be a mile from where I live!

How long have you worked at Just go?
On and off since 2009 across a variety of roles, though it doesn’t seem like that long at all!
What roles have you done?
I started as a valeter in ’09 and after a summer of part-time work I was offered a full time role as assistant yard manager. I spent a year in that role which involved repairing both interior and exterior damage and faults on the motorhomes. I also managed a team of cleaners whilst overseeing the yard on a day-to-day basis. After that I went to spend a winter in the Swiss Alps and I’ve been returning to Just go in the summers ever since. The company and my role has changed a lot over the years; when I started in ’09 there were only 40 motorhomes on the fleet, and now we have just had over 200 arrive for the busy summer ahead!
Can you describe a typical day at Just go?
We’re currently in the process of selling off this summer’s fleet, so at the moment I’m concentrating on re-applying manufacturers vinyl stickers and restoring the motorhomes to their factory appearance. After that I’ll visually inspect the exterior of the van and once I’m happy with it the boys outside will have the next van de-stickered ready for me to repeat the process.

What’s your favourite part of working at Just go Motorhomes?
It has to be the staff! I’ve made a lot of friends up here over the years. An added bonus is the tan that I pick up over the summer!

What’s your main achievement since starting work at Just go Motorhomes?
The variety of roles I have filled have put me in multiple different environments ranging from customer facing roles to collecting motorhomes from across Europe. As a result of this I have Just go to thank for making me well rounded and giving me the ability to rise to any challenge.
What makes Just go stand out from other motorhome rental companies?
Just go have a good range of practically brand new vehicles for couples and groups of up to 6 people, and the location is great, just off Junction 12 on the M1. Alongside that the friendly girls in the office will make you feel right at home!
What is your favourite motorhome and why?
The 6-berth Pioneer is my favourite because I like the layout, which incorporates a big double bed at the back and a really spacious locker. Oh, and because I named this one the Pioneer!
