Eurolease Grand Tour 2020 – Latest Travel Info

As you are all aware, Italy has recently introduced extraordinary measures in response to the Corona virus. We empathise that a lot of our customers are concerned by the current media reports regarding Covid-19 in Northern Italy. It was highly unfortunate that the outbreak in Northern Italy coincided with the UK half term holidays. During this period, people were not aware of the issue in this specific area which allowed the virus to spread. Fortunately, now this entire area is an exclusion zone.

Unfortunately, the situation in Italy has changed and the FCO now advises against all but essential travel to the country. This means that until the FCO changes their advice, we’re unable to offer the 2020 Eurolease Grand Tour trip.

Our team of 17 who were in Italy preparing all the vehicles for the trip are all back in the UK and are safe and well. They are all in self-isolation as per the FCO guidelines.

We completely empathise with the severity of your concerns and in light of the ongoing situation, we have decided to allow you to make the decision about your trip. We can offer you the following three options:

1) Postponement - We would like to postpone all collections until 27th April 2020. Based on the comparable situation in China we hope that by this time, the outbreak will be controlled and the number of cases will be diminished.

2) Cancellation - We are unable to facilitate any collections to the factory before 3rd April 2020 and all collections that were scheduled before this date have been cancelled. If you do not wish to postpone or exchange your motorhome hire, please let us know.

3) Exchange – We know how many of you were looking forward to a holiday so rather than cancel or postpone you trip; we can exchange the value of your Eurolease trip for a hire in the UK.

Our team will be personally contacting you all tomorrow, starting with those scheduled to collect first. The safety of our staff and customers is our utmost priority.

The outbreak of Covid-19 is presenting challenges to everyone. We’re all working extremely hard to manage this situation and to give you the right answers. We appreciate all of your concerns and are advising you of any updates to the trip as and when appropriate. Please can we kindly ask that you remember that we’re human. Let’s remain kind to each other in this difficult situation. This Corona virus outbreak is not the fault of our administrative team who you are all in communication with – they are just trying to do their jobs. With 17 members of our team in self-isolation, our office is running on skeleton staff. Please do bear with us whilst we are dealing with all your phone calls and emails.

We are closely monitoring the situation and following the guidance on travel from the government and leading organisations.

Thank you for all your support in this very difficult situation.
