- Book campsites ahead during school & bank holidays
- Plan for narrow country roads (especially the Lake District)
- Arrive before it gets dark so you can pitch up & settle in
- Leave no trace - use disposal points & respect parking rules
Day 1 - Manchester To Chester

Bowland is a quieter alternative to the popular Lake District. It boasts open moorland, stone villages and is a great location for stargazing. Pitch up at a countryside campsite and enjoy a slow evening in your motorhome. Be sure to look out for local farm shops for fresh produce and ingredients.
Day 4 - Forest Of Bowland To Windermere & Bowness-on-Windermere
On day four, travel to the Lake District to visit Windermere and Bowness. When you are parked, take a cruise on the lake or walk the lakeside paths. If you’re travelling with family, the area has lots of attractions and routes that are suitable for all abilities.

If you’d like to take a relaxed walk, try Rydal Water, which has lovely scenery that isn’t too difficult to complete. Finally, finish the day with an evening back at your campsite in your motorhome.
Day 6 - Windermere To Keswick & Derwentwater
On day six hit the road and drive to Keswick which is one of the most popular Lake District towns near to Derwentwater. It is an amazing base for lakeside walks, boat trips and shopping if you need anything.
If you’d like a great view with low effort, take a short hike or drive to a nearby lookout point. Or simply enjoy the town’s restaurants and local amenities.
Day 7 - Keswick To The Coast
On your final day consider travelling west to the Cumbrian coast before you head back to the Just go depot in London or Edinburgh.
